Okay first off, the WAY Louis says all this is just…really interesting. He gets noticeably more quiet, starts choosing his words waaaay more carefully, looks over at Harry every .02 secs to check his reaction. This is not how Louis Tomlinson normally talks. Or well, the looking over at Harry is, but the quiet, careful way he answers….no.
Also, Harry isn’t saying A N Y T H I N G during this entire part, he’s just fiddling with his bracelet….the bracelet that matches his boyfriend’s…..okay then.
Then, this:
louis: yeah! but then, it turned into so many people genuinely thinking me and harry are uh *puts arm around harry* in a relationship. when, quite frankly we started off just saying that we’re really good friends, then everyone said this and then now everyone thinks that-
niall *making box with hands* this is the picture now that’ll be on twitter next week, his arm around him
louis: yeah
okay, but that is not a denial. Like, actually, that is sort of confirming my headcanon for Louis, tbh: he didn’t question his sexuality, and then he meets Harry and it just seems RIGHT but he doesn’t really GET IT until someone’s like “wow, that’s kinda gay, mate,” and then he’s like….oh. OH.
ANYWAY, not saying that’s what happened, but like, yeah, nothing he said right there is a denial. It’s actually some really clever language to AVOID denying anything:
“so many people genuinely thinking me and harry are in a relationship”
not
“we’re not in a relationship.”
and
“we started off just saying that we’re really good friends”
not
“we are only really good friends.”
Like, omg “we started off JUST SAYING that we’re really good friends,” like, that even implies that they were LYING when they were just saying they were good friends???? Louis, what are you doing, pls, that’s not a denial, baby.
Also, Niall, #1 Larry Stylinson shipper, butting in to get Louis to stop fucking talking all awkwardly about their relationship.
The only real denial comes when she pushes it further than any other interviewer and outright asks if they’ve kissed, which I doubt they were expecting to happen, tbh, because every other interviewer has been happy to let it drop after the non-denial denial Louis just pulled again in this interview. And I mean, what are you going to say to a question like that? I doubt they were prepared for that. Also, they both pause after she asks, like, why do you have to pause to think about what you’re going to say if you haven’t actually kissed?
But anyway, it doesn’t even matter, because then Louis says “everyone does that,” like, basically confirming that they have actually kissed. They go on to talk about photoshop and the ~quality of manips and whatever, but that’s not what Louis was talking about, was it? He didn’t say “there’s manips of all of us kissing,” he said “everyone does that,” ie, makes out with each other?* lol okay Louis. Also, the way he says, “it’s good photoshop!!!” so quick and defensive, pls.
(*yeah, I know he could be talking about photoshop here, but he doesn’t SAY it, and the words he uses are, again, super ambiguous. idk that part could just be because he’s already flustered, tbh)
